How Do i get the lightgun on in mame through mala

hi all ,

  i have my cabinet going but the topgun doesnt work in  mame through mala and i would like it to go when i choose a shooting game

the setup is

amd64 2400
512 mb ram
ati 9600 vc
2 times 80g hdd

help would be apreciated

hi all ,

   after many hours of cursing my Mame machine i have come up with the answer ......


well to begin this works only with the EMS Topgun

download gcon2pc drivers from http://xoomer.alice.it/guncon2/ and load them on don't load the topgun drivers that came with the gun .....

then setup the gun as specified in the instructions

i set it up this way with the light bars like so ||

hold button a + b together offscreen with laser pointer on till the laser appears

NB:wait for the recoil before moving to the next shot on the setup

then shoot the top 3 leds
then the centre of the screen
the top left hand corner
the top right hand corner
the bottom right hand corner
the bottom left hand corner



and jobs done your mouse should be moving now all over the screen now if not setup the lightgun as before

before you want to start shooting things you need to alter the config file so that the gun is recognised open it in notepad and change

and there you go the buttons have to be configured for playing the games but you can get some joy from moving the crosshairs around
on the screen and give a big WOOT to yourself because if you are like me it has been many hours of yelling to get to this stage

for now i cannot seem to get the trigger working on my gun but give me time I've made it this far
