Starcade - My Project
« on: July 19, 2008, 07:39:27 am »
Hi All, I found this site about 2 weeks ago and have read as many threads as humanly possible.

ok, about a month ago, I saw on eBay a BAS Jamma cabinet with (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and (Martial Champion) which I won for £90. I then sold the two jamma boards and bought a 48 in 1 :) and am very happy with it.

Then, a week after, I noticed another cabinet (again BAS) with NeoGeo Viewpoint and Pang 3 and I put a daft £10 bid on it not thinking I would win, but Hey I did.... so that leads me up to where we are now. I am planning to cleanup and start a project called Starcade.

I have stripped all the JAMMA stuff out and am planning to put a PC with MAME on it in it.... I also intend to sand down the sides and gloss them Black, with Yellow T Moulding, and Yellow buttons.

Hey if this goes well, I may even do the first one in Black and Blue.

I will be updaing this thread as much as possible with pictures and any problems that arise (Im not a great DIY person).

p.s I have 2 Marquee examples, can anyone think of any reason these wouldnt work?

Welcome to the board!
If that is your actual machine in the photo, why would you want to mame it? It looks in excellent shape.

I like the second marquee example.  I really like the way the halos look.

whatchu want for it? Im not a big fan of it but my nephews like it in MAME, so it'd be cool to put the cart in my dedicated neo cab so they can play the real thing

Well, whatever you do - don't print the TM part of the artwork.  :)

Ditto. Love the shape of the cabinet too. Slick and compact.
