Ebay alternate
« on: July 09, 2008, 08:06:16 am »
A few of the guys over at AtariAge are starting to use a new auction site since they are fed up with how e-bay has been operating. Thought I'd pass it along as another place to search besides e-bay...

http://www.chasethechuckwagon.com

Since thier launch on March 24th, 2008 they have had over 500 members join up. It might be worth checking out.

As part of thier new member drive to get more users to join and check out thier sit, they are offering a member referral contest. If any of you guys do join up for both the Auction Site and Forum Community, please be sure to credit me as your referer.

Thanks

Um, yeah, for local stuff.

I think you mean, "use it while it is STILL free"

Like everything other great service to the internet community.  Eventually the "free" sites become filled with ads or some type of transaction fee etc.

Since everything is local pick up, usually, on craigslist, I think the ads are coming sometime in the future.

A little late for that. CL charges $25 to post job ads. I doubt charging for other ads will be too far behind.

http://www.chasethechuckwagon.com

Looks to be a very promising site, but needs a wee bit more work.

First thing. I can search from the main page, but I couldn't search from the search page. It required me to log in.  ???

Second thing. STOP LOADING!!!!! Every few seconds that damn loading bar keeps going. Looks like it has something to do with the advertisements.

At least they are taking from the rich and not the poor, as far as CL goes. IMO, the best way to sell stuff is to go online to forums that revolve around those items and buy from the sales section.
