WG 9400 Problems
« on: July 05, 2008, 04:21:02 pm »
Ok Here's the story. I went down to Florida and got a USA NAOMI Universal cab for free. I needed a monitor for it. I tired for 2 days to reach Rick on the phone and got no answer. A few phone calls were made and I found a local distributor had WG Trisynchs for $498.00 so I went against my gut instinct and got one. I wish I hadn't. Here's the problem it'll display my NAOMI games and even my Midway Seattle games. My Namco System 11, 12 & 246 are a diffrent question. It says no signal even tho you can see it running in the background (distorted). Is there any way to fix this? Mind you my boards run fine on my Nieman display, And in the case of my System 246 (Tekken 4, Soulcalibur II) it displays fine on my HP LP2465. I have tried running the monitor on the interlaced setting as well as standard. I know for a fact the boards aren't bad. If you are reading this DON'T EVER BUY A WG! get a Nieman even if you have to wait a month to get Rick on the phone to order. I wish I had now.  :'(

I had the same problem with my d9400 so your not alone. It doesn't like the sync signal with the games you mentioned. It's been awhile, but I remember reading that if you split the composite sync signal into separate horizontal and vertical sync it should work. I never tried it though. I ended up getting rid of the monitor before I could.

I also had the problem of 90's midway games such as mortal kombat, killer instinct, nba jam displaying incredibly dark. Even with the RGB and contrast levels full. Considering most of my collection consisted of these, I had to get rid of it.

Always best to call tech service before purchasing to see if they know how it'll work in your situation. Or, ask here first. Impatience can indeed be problematic.

namco have a bit of a strange sync situation,to counter act this on certain monitors it is necessary to install a 5kohm resistor from the vertical sync to video ground
