Configuring u360 in NullDC/Maple
« on: July 03, 2008, 11:52:10 pm »
Can anyone tell me how to get Maple to recognize both a u360 and the keyboard controller at the same time?  It seems I can get it to see one or the other but not both simultaneously.

Maple ? Or Maple Story? well in any event, just set the program up for keyboard support and then run Joy2Key or Xpadder. They both convert the digital joystick input to keyboard input. I love Xpadder and it works beautifully for me when I encounter a game that doesnt seem to have joy and keyboard support simultaneously.

Thanks nukedawg -

When I select my plug-in in Maple, I should select keyboard, correct?  When I do this the "config" option is grayed out.  If I select the joystick plug-in, I can see the joystick config (and the correct mappings), but it won't allow me to change any of the keyboard commands.  The option to change keyboard commands is there , but when I click "assign key" it doesn't recognize whatever I press.

I downloaded xpadder and seemed to configure the joystick fine...but either I'm not using it correctly with NullDC or my NullDC settings are not right.??

I am not sure how I have mine setup, I've used Xpadder to config some of my emu's but cant remember specifically if I did for nullDC. I do know I have it working great with 2 u360's and my mini-pac but I am out of town till Sunday. I'm sure someone round here has it set up correct plus I'm a newb bout nullDC as well

searched and found this which may be of help

Finally back home and I checked how I have NullDC setup with my u360's.

In nullDC > Options > Select Plugins - port A and B are set to
nullDC Controller [WinHook] (nov 7 2007) v1.0.0 (drkMapleDevices_Win32.dll:0)

Options > Maple >port A and Port B should allow for keyboard input.
Player 1 uses arrow keys and player 2 uses RFDG keys

I have everything set up in Mala with pre commands
C:\Program Files\xpadder\Xpadder.exe arrows RFDG /m
C:\Program Files\WinIPAC\WinIPAC.exe C:\Program Files\WinIPAC\nullDC.ipc
These set up xpadder for arrows for joy1 and RFDG for joy2 and winIpac just changes some of my default keys to better suit nullDC.

and followed by post commands of
C:\Program Files\xpadder\Xpadder.exe none none /m
C:\Program Files\WinIPAC\WinIPAC.exe C:\Program Files\WinIPAC\WinIPAC.ipc

hope this helps

Thanks nukedawg.  I ended up using Joy2Key and it works great.  Thanks a bunch for getting me up and running.  For some reason I was set on using the "joystick" plug-in in NullDC and the first "controller" option is the way to go.
