Ledwiz wiring help - basic questions
« on: June 27, 2008, 07:14:31 pm »
Curse my lack of knowledge of even the most basic of electrical concepts!!  I hate posting such seemingly basic questions but I am not getting this.  I'm trying to wire up my Ledwiz without ruining something.  I have 4 novagem buttons from GGG and a 3" Happ  lighted trackball...pretty basic.

1. So the buttons have an orange wire and a white/yellow wire.  The white/yellow wire has a resistor shrink wrapped in it and, looking at the instructions, this is what goes into one of the numbered terminal blocks and the orange side would then go into the External 5v input.   This X5v input though, already has a jumper in it (to the U5v input) and I doubt they would all fit?  This is leading me to believe I am reading the instructions wrong. Does everything (including the rather thick jumper) go into the X5v block?

2.  I bought a used trackball that came with an LED lighting kit.  The kit has 4 orange wires coming out along with 4 red (well at least darker orange) wires that are all crimped together with one wire coming out of it.  What goes where with this and do I need to add a resistor to any of it?  I was *expecting* to put the 4 wires into terminal blocks and the red one into a ground...like the iPac4 but today I receive the buttons and all these resistors on the buttons have me confused.

I've read thru posts, read the instructions 10 times, looked at headkaze's website, and I guess I just need to be spoonfed.  Thanks for reading.

I had the same questions you did.  I posted in this thread and RandyT quickly answered.  Read through this one if you haven't already.  If you still have questions, send RandyT a PM or email and I am sure he will get back to you.
