WTB: .800 coin mech
« on: June 27, 2008, 10:40:11 am »
I've got a plastic mech that has been modified to accept any type of token but I've been having issues with it jamming up.  Does anyone have a metal coin mech that accepts .800" tokens?  The tokens are slightly larger than nickels if someone needs a comparison.

Thanks,
Scott

I've got a ton of .900" but no .800".  Where do you even get tokens that small?

I bought a cab from a Namco Timeout and there were a ton of tokens in the base.  They are all the official Namco tokens.  Similar to this one.  http://www.tias.com/cgi-bin/google.fcgi/itemKey=1923052167 .  I have a $.25 mech but not enough quarters and only a handful of .984 tokens.  It'd probably be easier to buy a bunch of the .984 tokens, but I like having Namco tokens to go with my Namco cabinet.

I was pretty sure Namco tokens were .900.  You sure about the size?

I pulled out the calipers and the coin is just under 22 mm in diameter, which is .86 "  and the nickel is 21 mm.  Can you try a nickel in your .900 mech and see if it will work?  If not, then it's the wrong size.  Thanks!

I'm ten kinds of clueless now...I just ran a Namco token thru my supposed .900" mechs and it didn't go through.  I ran it before and it went just fine.     I've got to figure out what kind of mechs these are!

Thanks for looking into it for me!  So the token got stuck?  Doesn't it only get stuck if it's too big?  Otherwise it drops straight down into the reject tube right?  Well let me know how it goes, thanks!

It got stuck, as well as the nickel.  I need to test further.  I was *sure* these were .900 mechs.

Maybe your mech is .800 and the token needs the .882 mech?  Very strange.  I've not heard of mechs smaller than .800.  Maybe the screw on the side needs adjusting?

I've got over a hundred of them; they're non-adjustable.
