Desktop controls
« on: June 26, 2008, 11:35:14 pm »
Hey all, I've been lurking here for a while now.  I'm hoping to get started on my desktop controls soon, so I figured it was time to sign up and jump in.

I currently use a HotRod, so what I'm planning to build is a smaller panel to complement the HotRod, with a dedicated 4-way stick, a spinner, and a few buttons.  So, my first questions...

What's the best bet for a dedicated 4-way in a wood panel?  I was originally thinking of getting a Tornado Terry Ball-top Super, but are the Supers true 4-ways?  He also has a "Ms. Pacman Stick" which can be ordered for a wood panel.  Is that a Reunion stick with a longer shaft?

Also, the current plan is for four buttons, plus buttons for coin up and 1P/2P.  I've browsed through MAWS and I didn't really see any 4-way or spinner games that needed more.  Am I missing anything obvious here?

Thanks!

EDIT: Attached an image from Google Sketchup with the basic idea.
