MK II to MAME conversion - Project G.A.M.E - My first cab
« on: June 25, 2008, 02:43:18 pm »
I decided to post this up here to get some of your inputs. This is my project that Ive been working on since last Sunday.
Its a MK II cab that I got for free. The original artwork has been painted over but I plan to fix that sometime soon.

Whole project is here:

BTW: If anyone has a chassis to a WG K7400 they would like to donate or sale for a reasonable price hit me up  ;D

Well I currently don't have a chassis for the arcade monitor or a 20"+ TV so its temporary. As soon as I find either Ill pop it in there and get a bezel for it. Until then the 17" monitor will just sit where it is (on the original monitor mounting bars).

Giod’s Arcade Machine Emulator: AKA PROJECT G.A.M.E

Well a few days ago I posted a want ad on Craigslist for a arcade cabinet to build a MAME machine. In reply I got a call about a free Killer Instinct 2 cabinet! So I scheduled a time and went and picked it up. This is what I got:

Well after I got it into my house and into the game room I started looking over what I got. I ended up with:
1. A Mortal Kombat II Cabinet with black paint over the original art, no CP, and no marquee.
2. A 25″ WG 7400 tube (no chassis and a new one is $95 so I guess I wont be using that :( ).
3. A coin door with working lights, mech, and counter.
4. coin bucket
5. Florescent light fixture with burnt out bulb
6. Isolation transformer
7. lots of wire
8. the side of a computer case!?!?

Pretty good for free ey?
Well I got started to work and removed all the useless crap.
