J-pac timing out, suddenly reprogrammed itself
« on: June 24, 2008, 07:43:09 am »
rather anoyingly it was all going swimingly and then suddenly the J-Pac just give out !

its now reprogramed itself and is not letting me re program it

i only use the keyboard encoder side of it but like the idea of using the exsisting jamma loom.

the self test light flickers when plugged in but does not stay on where as i think before it went wrong it was always on.

if anyone could shed some light on this i would be very grateful

ps i use the PS/2 connection

thanks a lot

I've had a fair bit of practice with the i-pac so maybe I can help. What exactly did you do right before it went like this? Did you plug it into the JAMMA loom, for example, or did you connect your coin door to it?

Thanks for your input 'turnarcades'

i have no idea ! the room in which I’m working in has a metal covered floor so it could or shorted something as it was all sorta hanging out the back !

as i had to leave the room i had to make sure all the power was off to the machine as i cannot leave it un attended atm, and in the time it took me to right out that post and go back down and just blow on all the cable ends and ports and carefully re insert and power up win -ipac suddenly was fine about downloading too the J-Pac ! But what was very weird is all the inputs on everything had been set to F1 ! Which I found quite fascinating and it will only let me program through the table and not through the panel part.

After I had jigged it about I then connected my coin door and it was fine (Happ MAME thing).

Again I really have no idea what happened or what made everything suddenly change to F1 but I do appreciate people trying to help

David

This kind of problem is much better dealt with by email. Can you drop me a mail on andy@ultimarc.com and I will try to help as soon as possible.
