WTB: Empty Cab for MAME project [Burbank, CA]
« on: June 22, 2008, 09:30:31 am »
I've been looking all over craigslist and ebay for a cab to use on my next MAME project, but I haven't been able to find one. I need something cheap which means I'd prefer an empty cab. I know I could get a full cabinet and then strip it but I don't want to pay for extra stuff I won't be using. I need one with a wooden control panel.

The second catch is that I don't own a truck anymore (man, I miss having a truck) so I'm looking for someone who would be able to deliver it to Burbank, CA. I of course would pay some extra for the delivery since gas is now over $4.50 everywhere here.

BASS!

I would say do this, put a wanted ad up on craigslist in your area and msg anyone who looks like they have a lot of cabs. Anyone who collects usually has a few they have been holding on to for no good reason. Once you have found someone in your area go to your home depot and rent a van or enterprise. Usually the two will have a really great 1-2 hour price like $20-$30 and bring a buddy. Hopefully someone here will have one in your area but if not, good luck. Just my 2c.

That's a good idea on checking out Home Depot. I looked at Budget/U-Haul, etc and they charge for a full day plus mileage. It was going to be almost $200 for a 50 mile round trip. :(
