Do you guys think something like this would/could work? The handheld part could be disassembled and recessed into the panel so only the little knob part shows. What do u think?

I am looking for an alternative to a trackball...something simple and small.

Thanks Thetick, that's something I was looking for.

jakejake28: It might be analog, is there a way to make an analog joystick double as a mouse (so to speak)?
