Quick n00b question about trackball , spinner, mame , golden tee , tempest

just got my control panel up and running for the first time, and fired up golden tee in mame.
My trackball was detected in windows fine, and i can move the mouse cursor around with it, but in mame, in games like golden tee, its not detected. The sticks work fine in mame, but the trackball and spinner are not recognized. ANyone help a nooby out?

Check your .ini settings to make sure trackball recognition is on.

You have to enable it first, look for this entry in your mame.ini file:

#                   
mouse                     1

Make sure it is a 1, most likely it's turned off now, with a 0.

Also, enable the mouse for trackball use here:
