this seems to say that the dreamcast does 15kHz stock, so I think you would have to hack that cable or something

oh, well you should need the RGB ground h-sync, and v-sync lines

and jump pin 6, or 7 but not both to ground

i have taken pictures of what seems to be the molex connector on the back of my monitor that contains RGB/H/V. Does anyone know which wire is which, cause if seems to me that the red, green, are the first two, then it seems like a brown? grey and yellow. what is the brown one for?

You are going to have R/G/B, Video Ground and at least one Sync (negative composite), depending on your monitor.

What is your monitor ?

the arcade connector goes in this order.
RED
GREEN
BLUE
GROUND

the brown is sometimes the blue, the ground is black and thw white is sync.

While I agree that you are probably right in this case, you really can't rely on wire colours.

I have a G07 (as pulled from the cab) on my bench right now where the individual wire colours bear no resemblance to "reality".

Also important to understand the difference between positive and negative, hori and vertical syncs and to know what your source expects (although likely negative composite in this case), so you don't waste time trying to sync different signals.

Not trying to be pedantic, just trying to be clear in case others read the thread and wonder why stuff didn't work for them.

that's cool I have the same connector on 3 of my cabs so i fugured it's exactly the same, but could be a bit different, however he only has 1 sync wire.

The monitor is a Wells Gardner 25K7197. Can anyone confirm if the colours are what was posted above?

I never trust wire colours -- I even check the voltages on PC power supplies.

Based on the pictures and the monitor's documentation, I concur with ctozzi's assessment.

More documentation for your monitor is available from WG:
