Question on Joysticks
« on: June 06, 2008, 01:35:35 am »
Okay , my 600$ tax rebate came in and i am going to spend some of it on my arcade project

I've got a joystick question.

i've got a control panel you can view here
http://pincky.gotdns.com/Pictures/My%20Arcade%20Pictures/Control%20Panel/

now my player 1 is a ultimarc mag-stik plus
player 2 is a U360

I want to do this

change the player 1 joystick to a U360

and for the top joystick look for the picture thats has a button cap I want to put a Omni-stick topfire button selectable 4/8 way

I want to know opinions and i really want to know if i can even install it with enough room on the control panel for the plate without over laping to that other button hole on the right side

let me know thanks!

Vince

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

I hope you don't plan on playing any bowling or golf games. If you put a stick right above that trackball, it's going to be in the way of those types of games.

Though I've never seen an Omni-stick in person, it looks like there might be JUST enough room for it. The mounting plate is pretty big on those.

Do you really think you'll play enough game that require a top-fire to justify an Omni-stick? A standard Happ top fire wouldn't be good enough?

Good point I wanted another opinion to justify my purchase.

Thanks!

i am gonna go with the regular 8 way topfire
