Correct Assembly of the SNK LS-30?

I am not sure if my SNK rotary stick was correctly assembled when I got it.  It seemed to be sticking on the microswitch levers and generally not actuating the switches smoothly.  I disassembled it, but I can't figure out where the problem is.  The disassembly guide that Druin had on his site doesn't seem to match the stick I have at all.

Here is a link to my disassembled stick, minus the mounting plate.  Do all the parts appear to be there?  Can anyone tell me the correct order to assemble these components?

Perhaps the switches are just worn out, but I wanted to make sure everything was correctly assembled first before I start trying to retrofit some regular microswitches in place of the short lever Matsushitas that are on there now.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I think I may have gotten it. First I put the spring on the shaft, then the metal washer, then the smooth plastic washer, then the yellow base, then the other plastic washer, then the T-shaped washer with the small part facing up towards the switch levers, then the microswitches, then the top of the yellow base, then the shaft sleeve, then the metal clip and the knob.

Can anyone confirm if that's correct?  It seems to be working much better this way.

I have 4 of these 2 are in mint condition the other two are good but used


mine all have the metal washer between the shaped  plastic washer and the t-shaped plastic washer
and just the smooth plastic washer over the spring

I believe this is the way they came from the factory, because the lock-tight had not been broken on two of them and they are all this way

The smooth plastic washer was almost completely destroyed by a broken spring on the one that seemed like it had the most use, so I've had to replace the spring and the washer, but the others seem fine

so it goes spring, smooth plastic washer, bottom yellow plastic, washer with lip(lip facing spring), metal washer, t shaped washer, switches, top yellow ect.

that took me a while to figure out when I was reparing the broken one

Yep, that picture was worth a thousand words and saved me on the five dollar tool. 

Thanks for the info about the assembly.  I'll put it back together that way and see how it feels.

Whoever tinkered with this one last had put the T-shaped washer in after the switches, so it was resting on top of the switch levers and I think the shaft sleeve was actually pushing it down onto the levers so they wouldn't move right.

So now I have a working LS-30 and a working Wico rotary.  Not bad for 25 dollars.
