Best way to hold plexiglass over monitor in place?

The cabinet I'm working with has a set of wooden rails that the plexiglass rests on, and then the plexiglass goes into a slot beneath the marquee. My problem is, I need to take these rails out if I want to be able to slide the TV into the cabinet. I'm a little wary of doing it though, since if I do I'm not sure how I'd securely keep the plexi in place. I toyed with the idea of attaching velcro to the backs of the rails, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not since that will inevitably make the rails thicker, and the velcro might be visible if I do (even if I use black). I'd like to know what other options there are for keeping plexiglass in place before I go and do anything brash.

I just leaned it up against the monitor bezel and it is holding just fine.  Just to be safe I picked up a clear plastic corner protector (the kind used to project drywall walls).  I mounted this on the bottom of the glass to hold it in place.  It doesn't really seem to be needed, but it is just for a piece of mind.

I'm not sure how much I'd trust the plexi just laying there on its own, but I did end up ripping out the railing that was in the cabinet with a crowbar this afternoon. It was a messy affair, since the rails were made out of fiberboard (the crappy kind) and they were both stapled and glued to the cab's interior. The TV should go in quite easily now, however I'm going to need a new solution for holding the monitor in place, especially since I'm not sure if the slot below the marquee will even line up with the plexi after I've stuffed a TV in there.

mine is held in place by friction.  and 4 metal angle braces.  i had to remove the wooden strips in my cabinet as well, since they weren't where i wanted them.  i then installed four metal angle braces (2" braces) instead of usign wooden strips.  i had planned on using four magnets to hold it to the braces, but as it turns out, when i cut it, it is a little snug to get it in the cabinet, so i have to flex it slightly to get it in there, the friction holds it in place.

I suppose it would be prudent to order a different shaped piece of plexi, then. The one that came with my cab (which I'm going to replace anyway since it's beat up) is narrower than the opening, about 20.5” wide, and it's a lot longer than it needs to be due to the slot below the marquee that it's supposed to feed into. The actual opening is 21" wide, so it may turn out that a wider piece of plexi is all I need.
