FS: Rebuilt Star Wars Yoke [US-OR]
« on: June 01, 2008, 06:24:30 pm »
Like the title says, got a star wars yoke for sale.  Bought two back in the day when they were just becoming a hot item.  Keeping the perfect original one and want to sell the other.

Sandblasted the handles and front box to bare metal, then painted and cured in black.  All rubber bumpers were replaced and all rubber remnants removed.  Smallest gear replaced as it was broken.  Spent 125 in parts alone and more on sandblasting and paint.  Currently testing buttons and pots to make sure it's in perfect working order.  Selling for $350 without cover or artwork.  Pics to come in the next week, but just wanted to get this out in the open.

Please, no ridiculous offers or any trades.  Will go up on ebay if no buyers here.  Wanted the community to have first dibs.

this isn't supposed to be a shameless bump, but i was reminded today that i can make a yoke cover at work out of the right material.  The yoke is still being buttoned up, will be tested shortly, and a yoke cover made.  Check back in 2 weeks max for a pic of a complete working star wars yoke.  the artwork will still be missing in action though, so the buyer can add what he feels is appropriate, or leave it black.

Eh, give the guy a break. Personally, I'd say $250, but considering how it's tough to get one in good shape, and Ram Controls is MIA, it's worth a try...

...did you get your $$ back from RAM? Didn't a thread say he was going to finish his project and start shipping by now? Just curious.
Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?

hey dude,

Haha.  I'll give you one via PM now, but you'll need to check the ram controls website in a few days, too.  I should have new pictures up as well.   Ok, so here's the latest.  The handles have finally been finished up -- the powder coating was successful.  I'll have pictures of these up  in the next few days.  I'm having the framing powdercoated right now.  We should have the first production units ready in the next few weeks.  I'm so ready for this project to be completed!  You have no idea.  LOL

We should have the first production units ready in the next few weeks.

I can only hope. We'll see - I hung out there, and didn't request a refund. I would only waste the money on something, and then when the time comes (if ever!) when these are available, I wouldn't have it. So we'll see. Judging from David's previous work, if he actually brings these to market, they will be phenomenal. And something like this always ends up being a limited run so for me to get one would be great. Best of all, no Star Wars cab would be harmed in the process for my Mame cab!

At least when he was doing the free thing I got a couple of Atari lit cone buttons, and those aren't cheap - so I at least got something out him no matter what!

Hahn hahn, yeah. My idea on it all has been about the same. It's been long enough, it's not money I'm missing.
