I recently acquired a Forgotten Worlds cabinet that's in overall decent condition, but with one major caveat: the push spinners need replacing.  The original Capcom spinner knobs are missing and were replaced with ill-fitting round joystick ball knobs.  Even worse, the existing spinners sometimes become non-responsive, which leads me to believe that they need replacing outright.  I've done a bit of searching around for a place to purchase a replacement spinner or similar suitable part, to no avail.  I have a feeling these are going to be incredibly difficult if not outright impossible to find.  If anyone here could direct me to a person or place that would have these parts, please let me know.

If it's the boards that are bad, you might try fixumdude's boards.  I don't know if the FW boards were standard arcade boards (fixumdude's should work) or not (??).  Could you post some pictures of the board to help figure if it is?

And while you're at it, would you mind posting some pics of the spinner, just for show? :)  Info on number of teeth or gaps per one rotation of the knob, number gears (any any), and any other info would be awesome too.   Thanks.

Anyway, I'm guessing you're going to keep the FW game, yes?  I wonder if the TT-HL in slave mode will "work"?  Very different resolution, though, I bet.  Hmm...

I'd guess the GGG and ultimarc knobs should fit.  How close in the GGG Big Blue to the originals?

Good luck on fixing the controllers.  That was one of my favorite games as a kid (and isn't now only due to I don't have the original controllers, or at least something very much like the original CP).

I love that game. I didn't know it had a dedicated cabinet.

The game itself isn't all that great (even though I think the chick in the shop is super cute). I wouldn't consider a restore on it since the cost would be so high.

Good luck!

Another possible fix would be to see if you can retrofit a couple Oscar V2 spinners with the press to fire kit on them.
Those are also hard to find, but probably not as hard as decent FW spinners.
Again, I don't know about the optics matching the game, the spinner resolution, etc...

If the problems are intermittent on the spinners, you might check the solder connections, optical sensors, wiring harnesses, etc... to make sure that there isn't something going into and out of alignment.
Make sure the optics don't have big dust bunnies in them.
