Im sure this has been done, but is this how?

Im sure this has been done..probably ALOT, but ive been searching and cant seem to find anything solid on it.

I seen a video on the main page a while back of a sit down racing cabinet with an xbox 360 running a racing game.

Im not sure quite how they did that, and im sure my question/guess below is going to look stupid to most of you, but im still curious  ;D. I assume it could be done fairly easily. Just find a suitable cabinet, and install your own TV ( I say TV because im new to all this and don't know if its possible to hook an arcade monitor up to a console), and put an xbox 360 (or multiple consoles) in the cabinet (obviously no issues hooking those two together). But how would you hook the steering wheel, pedals, shifter, and a couple misc buttons to work instead of the controller(s)? I know theres some after market ones you can buy, that are designed for the consoles, but are those as nice and arcade like as the real thing?

If my MAME upright turns out good, Im liking this as my next project :)

You would use an Xbox steering wheel.

As easy as you thought eh?

I don't know about what's available for the Xbox, but the higher end Logitech wheels that are available for the PS2/PS3 (Driving Force Pro and G25) are better than the arcade wheels, IMO.

The step down from the Driving Force Pro is the Driving Force EX, and that one feels cheap by comparison.

If you get a cab with a good monitor you shouldn't need to replace it with a TV, as the majority of consoles can be hooked to standard resolution arcade monitors.
