New MK Gameroom Layout/Decor Video....
« on: May 24, 2008, 10:58:43 pm »
Just changed the machine layout and added some wall decor, so here is a video to share. What do you think?

Current collection - 28 cabs, 4 pins. (32 machines and not enough room)

That's a great setup - hanging the side art on the wall is a great way to get around having it out of view on the cabs.

If you have the spare time, interest and cash I'd suggest doing a big wall mural of the MK2 sideart with Rasterbator:

Alot of folks take the time to mount each 'panel' on foam core and produce a very nice look.

Sweet, i like the way towards the end of the clip all the sound dies down apart form MK4, nice! Have you ever considered, just sticking all the Mk's in the one cab to save space, or would that be scaralige??

I'd say no way, the room's already dedicated to MK, so being a big fan I imagne it's quite an honour for him to have sourced all 4 in good condition. Good choice to go with the more feature-packed UMK3 than the basic MK3. Personally my favourite was always MK2, as the games seemed to lose their classic feel once 'run' and combos were added. The first one certainly rattled some people when it first came out, and is certainly the most gloomy atmosphere of all of them.

 :applaud:

If I had the space, time and money to have my own room of dedicated arcades, I'd have Killer Instinct (1, not the inferior sequel!), Turtles, Simpsons, Point Blank, Ridge Racer and GTI Club. I'd still really love a KI cab, but since having a stroke my reaction times aren't quick enough to play vs. fighting games anymore.

You should paint the walls, like, midnight blue or something. The only other thing I can see being an issue is the cabs are literally wall to wall. Whoever's on the end of either end game will be smashed against the wall.

How about a custom build for the new Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe

Maybe there isn't enough room? :)

Not really. It's kinda hard to tell, but the end cabs are actually facing more  inward then straight. You can stand directly in front of the controls that are against the walls and there is plently of room.
