http://phoenix.craigslist.org/sys/688673784.html

I picked up one of these from the seller yesterday.  They actually had a total of three.  They're a tech company and I think they must've had them laying around in storage -- it was quite dusty, but works perfectly.

So just wanted to share the love with any fellow BYOACers who are looking for a 27" presentation monitor for their cab.  The best part of all -- they're only asking $50.

Sure thing, I hope it works out.

And a note to any interested buyers: Remember for this type of monitor you'll need an HD15 (VGA) to 5 BNC (RGBHV) breakout cable.  There is not a standard VGA port on the monitor.

Something else I forgot to mention -- this monitor WILL sync to 15kHz, so you should be able to play games at their native resolutions, and it's supposed to go up to 1600x1200 which would be a boon if you plan to play vector games and your computer is fast enough to process at that resolution.

You know I see the 33" ones on Craigslist more often than the 27" ones.  Keep an eye out, do a search for 33 monitor, megaview, 33 multisync, stuff like that, and you'll run into one eventually.

A 27" is big enough. Cut it out with the size envy thing...

I want one of those so bad... I'm definitely not from the area though, I wish I could find one of those in the Wisconsin area...

I'll do that, thanks Justin!

Nice price, especially if in great condition. I think there's a lot of people hoarding these, and many of them still think they can get hundreds of dollars (or more) for them, but some are coming to the realization it ain't so. Especially the remote controls for these things people are thinking a hundred dollars or more - but they're soon gonna have junk on their hands.

My holy grail is probably a 33" 4:3 LCD that accepts CGA :P I dream about something like that existing nightly...  :banghead:

These look pretty close to the next best thing based on the arcade community's responses.

Bought it with a 34" sharp image arcade monitor in there. I haven't popped the speakers mesh off yet to get to how large the opening is, but it looks to be about 30" horizontally. Putting something smaller in there with a higher resolution just wouldn't do it justice  :hissy:

I'll be making a Street Fighter IV cab out of her eventually if the rumor about SFIV coming to PC is true. That means 16:9 black bars across the top to get it into widescreen (if no 4:3 support)... and every bit of resolution and screen size counts!

Ah. Well I guess that settles me making a trip up there for one (or two). Not that I need them, but at that price was thinking of changing out two I have if these were great. Whatchu gonna do with it, Steve?

Well, I was initially planning on keeping it as a "hot spare" for my MAME cabinet but this thing is just too bitchin' to have sitting around.  After the Ark is done, I may have to start another theme cabinet...  ;)

I was wondering if the color was bright an all. Sounds like it is. Ark? I don't frequent projects, but I'll have to get over there I guess and see.
