What is this thing called?
« on: May 14, 2008, 07:33:48 pm »
Does anyone know the proper name for this outlet/switch/fuse combination?

Also, is there any way I could connect one of these to this:

or even connect it to a regular PC power supply?

It's called a "Power Entry Module". Do a search at Mouser or Digikey and you'll find several styles. The module will have bare terminals on the back which feeds the equipment. I would have it feed a standard AC outlet where you can plug in your computer.

Perfect, thanks! I have a nice rectangular gap in the back of the cab where this was, so I wanted to fill it in with a new one of these (plus, it is actually pretty convenient).

I could basically wire this up to a standard AC outlet on the inside, and plug whatever I need into it?

The Craftsman power switch works great. I guess you've have to cut the cord to wire it to the inside of your power entry module, but the switching aspect of it works fine for a cab. I've been using one for over a year.
