I am curious, how come it says I can only have a 65 x 65 Avatar while some people have 80 x 80 and bigger?

example?

Are you confusing sigs with avatar?

It's possible that the limit is only for avatars stored on a separate server, where as the ones you choose from locally here can go to 80 x 80 --  It's also possible a certain admin may have overrided that limit for a person or two as a favor... (but the other options seem more likely)

Also, this probably should go in board/website discussion... although no one would see it there for like 2 days as it isn't as sexy as Main, or Software forum =P

I also have some Avatar questions,

1. My Avatar does'nt show up sometimes and other times it does, why is that? (can't see yours either Sshado) ???

2. On another forum I belong to I can upload my Avatar, why can't this forum do this? ???

3. How do you put those good looking logo's and gifs in the signature area? ???

Please forgive me for my ignorance. :-\

1) Likely a problem with the site that is hosting. Some people have theirs on free website from the ISP, when they exceed the monthly bandwidth alotted... it stops getting displayed.

2) You could cheat. While posting in the forums "Attach" it to the message you are posting.  After you post, grab the URL for the image displayed in the thread. I didn't do that, cause I thought it would be inappropriate.... either hijacking a thread or creating another useless one.

3) They probably created an "imbedded image". Rather than creating a clickable hyperlink, you insert an HTML tag that points to a URL of the image you want displayed. There is a YABBC tag for doing that as well "Insert Image"

I was right, that is inappropriate  ;D

What a waste of bandwidth ;)

Just for the record... animated avatars and sigs suck (no smiley here). Every time you post a message, perhaps as much as 20 times in a single thread, everbody will be bombarded with animations  :'(

Oh well, once again my friend, we find that science is a two-headed beast. One head is nice, it gives us aspirin and other modern conveniences,...but the other head of science is bad! Oh beware the other head of science, Arthur, it bites!

I keep telling PJ to run an avatar hosting service on this thread for really cheap..  Proceeds would go to paying for this site.

OK FINE.

For 1 Avatar - $2 per year. $3 per year if paid by PayPal.
For 1 Avatar and 1 Signature Graphic - $4 per year. $5 per year if paid by PayPal.

For other options Look Here.

And all proceeds go to ME, to pay for MY SERVER and the bandwidth used to host these files.

saint may concider doing this for less or even free. But that will have to wait until Dedicated Server 2.0 this fall. As bandwidth is still  climbing.

I forgot to say... IM me here for more info.
