I'm not sure of any new joys but I know the Raider Pro use to come in trans. blue.  Good luck tring to find one, all I keep coming up with is the black.

That was the Raider Pro.  I think OSCAR has a tutorial on hacking one on his site.  I believe Macally makes a USB I-stick in translucent blue.  Don't know of anyone hacking one, but they should be easier to find.

Never mind a little hunting and I came up with some good info.

Raider Pro by gameport ( also by Interact)

also somebody else has a page on it

http://mamecheats.fateback.com/tutorial.htm

while looking for it i came across this

http://www.epinions.com/Griffin_Technology_Powermate_USB_Universal_Audio_Controller__Computer_Components_1040_PMT

now with so many "GOOD" spinners made by arcade people, there is no reason to look at this, but I was just wondering if anybody had looked at it up close, it does say GAME contoler in the discrption (I'm guessing it works like a volume control, since that is waht it appears to be).

man that Raider Pro is hard to find in blue  :(

Someone tried that audio controller about 6 months (or longer) ago and said it didn't work very well for gaming.  You can try searching the archives of the board.

Let me share my experiences.

You're talking about the "Raider Pro Blue".  The "Raider Pro" is the black one.  Don't bother looking at stores.  I've emailed every Yahoo store that sells them to find that nobody actually sells them anymore, they are long gone.

Having said that, it is easy to get one from eBay, as long as all of you don't go at once.  Over about three weeks, I picked up three Raider Pro Blues from eBay for between $10 and $15 each including shipping.  If you are doing a joystick hack, it is worth it to get these sticks.

After getting them, I realized that this is really the ideal stick.  If you are building a 1Up dual joystick panel (lol, I wish I had control panels named after me...), then it is impossible to find a left/right handed joystick.  This stick looks cool, feels cool, is dual handed, has a trigger and thumb button and there are instructions on how to hack it.

My suggestion is don't bid all of these up on eBay, because the sellers don't know that we really want this stick.  Once they do, the prices will go up.

These are black ones:

Here is what you want:

I appologize ahead of time to any of you who were watching this joystick to get it for cheap (like 2.00) right before the auction closed.

I'm the guy who bought the Griffin Technology Griffin PowerMate spinner and tried to work it with Mame and it didn't work....

basically... I think its a driver problem...

the thing is farrrrrrr toooooo slooooooow...

I mean... I turn 1 full circle... and the controller moved soooo little....

I have tried treaking the sensitivity... control panel... all over the place... (also contact tech support...)
so success.... (also updated my driver....)

I have to say... the spinner is very cool looking.... feels very good.... but just not work for mame....

ps: but if you use this thing on MAC.... their driver specifically has an option - click that to use it as a spinner controller.... I don't own MAC... so, cannot try it out...

but for the PC version... at least when I got it... that option is NOT available on PC.

hope this helps...

ps: if anyone cares... I'm going to get the DOT spinner... haa ahaa haa.... *** very happy ***

There is a translucent blue flight stick from MicroCenter. Its USB and only $15 (I think).   Their website say MAC compatiable, doesn't mention PC or Windows. I was gonna pick one, or two up anyhow and see if they work with Win2k (their is a store local to me)... just haven't gotten around to it.

That's the MacAlly I-Stick that I mentioned earlier.  I know their I-ball (for MAC) would work on a PC, but don't know about the joystick.

I think that may be the MacSense stick that I got at MicroCenter.  I think it was clearanced at $9.99 when i got it about 6 months ago.  It is roughly Tron stick shaped (big head, red trigger), but has a bunch of buttons and a hat switch/thumb joy for your thumb on the back and top.  It is almost the perfect color blue and even close to the right size, but it is very right handed.

As I mentioned in this post the difference between a Mac USB device and a regular USB device is the color of the plastic.

I haven't hacked it yet, but it's going to be a cool Tron stick when I'm done!

it's purdy...unfortunately it covered too much of my vertical monitor so I had to switch it out with a plain black one... :'(

Plus the glow wire looked a little cheesy...
