Japanese Candy Cabinet (Astro City)
« on: May 01, 2008, 02:08:42 pm »
Do you guys know if there is an interested in Astro City Cabinets from Japan?  I have a source that would be able to get about 40 units over stateside.  I believe he was quoting somewhere around $400-450 plus shipping.

I personally would LOVE one,  I'm tight on space but for a nice Astro City I might have to make it work.  You should post this up over at http://www.shoryuken.com.  Its a forum for all things Fighters and Japanese Candy Cabs are a HOT commodity over there.

I've always been interested in gettting a Japanese sit-down cabinet.

These group buys never seem to get past "how much interest" presumably due to:
- lack of interest
- purchaser doesn't want to front the large purchase and end up getting stuck with a bunch due to interested parties not following through
- individuals not wanting to pay cash upfront and get screwed over

If it really transpires, depending on final costing and shipping/pickup options in the states I'd be interested.

Some previous attempts:

They would be coming into Los Angeles.  What is the best way to take deposit/payment?   If possible, before ordering and shipping.  (escrow service)

If people want to make arrangement once it comes into Los Angeles.  I will check to see if the shipping company can act as an escrow.  Doubt it but maybe.

price is great but the crating and cargo fees from japan to the US would make it not worth the wild.

probably would be better off finding them locally for less

You could probably get one of the well-stablished, respectable members here to act as escrow, if you really want to go that route.
