Is my cab too big?

I don't know if it's just me and I'm not used to seeing naked cabs, but is my cab too big and does it seem disproportional to anyone else? The dimensions are similar to lusids design and an mk cabinet (jakobuds) and the screen with be 27".

Is that square you have on the 2nd picture 4 feet long?  If so, I would say the cabinet looks like it's just the right size.

The Lusid cab is a big cab anyway.... It doesn't seem disproportionate and you're using a monitor that needs and suits a big cab. So unless you think it's too big because of not having the room to keep it, then no it looks fine.

Personally I'm not a fan of large cabs, but horses for courses... If you like it then stop worrying about it and get on with building it.

yep, if it's based off of MK then it will be a very deep cab indeed.

I don't have a basement and it will be going in my garage but if I did want it in a room it would barely fit (with the doors removed).

Nope, only sides have been cut and I'm working on the monitor mounting system now. The cab will have casters on it to make moving easy.

Your dimensions basically look perfect, although (before going further), but if you haven't cut all your center pieces then consider measuring your monitor frame and making the cabinet about 1/8" wider (inside) than the frame (so it just barely fits). They are stronger that way, and it will make dealing with interior doors easier later on. Since the control panel will be a bolt on job it won't change that part at all.

It's a much bigger cabinet, with a much bigger monitor, than I personally would prefer, and much bigger than the one I am building.  But if big is what you want, then it does seem reasonably proportioned.

The monitor angle is the same I chose for my cabinet, incidentally.  It's space-efficient and seems like a comfortable viewing angle.

I'm not too worried, all my doors are on the second floor of my house and there is no way in hell I'm going to carry this thing up stairs! Everything down stairs is easily accessible even if it was 40" wide:D

One thing to note with it is that I hope that you are not planning to use it with any gun games at any stage. Because with the monitor sloped back at that angle it'd be far from ideal for any of the shooters where you need the monitor to be much more upright.

Not finished yet.  The cabinet shell is in the paint shop, and meanwhile I am working on the control panel.  But you can see a few construction photos.  Project thread here:

Even though mine has merely a 19" LCD, the circular frame that rotates is about 24" wide -- which is to say, almost as wide as the interior of the cabinet.  It has about half inch clearance on either side.
