Original Frogger Joystick

Anyone have a picture of the underside of an original Frogger joystick, what were those Wico 4 ways?

Yes, those are Wico 4-ways.  The holes in the grommet, washer and actuator are smaller for the smaller joystick.

Thank you very much,  I actually have one of those bases, bought it off a guy that was getting out of the biz and never knew what it was,  I definitely want to make a removable 4 way cp, for frogger and pacman and all those really classic 4ways,  the problem with trying to fit everything onto one cp is that you have to reach over the main 8way six pack controls to get to the 4 way, and having your arm streched out just doesn't work over long periods of time,  the dedicated 4way is a must, and it also needs to be accessable like the originals or it is a waste INMO

One of the driving factors for those of us that went modular.
Other reasons for me were limiting the size of the CP, and not wanting to be off to one side when playing 1 player games.

  You can put 2 joysticks almost on top of each other without any issues.

 Place the top joy about 1.5 to  2 cm above the bottom joy, and   1.5 to 2cm to the left of the
bottom joy)

 Do a mock up test, and you should find it pretty comfortable.

 If the bottom joy is a little high up on the cp,  you might have to redo the CP so that its
a little further down.

I spent two years planning and building here and there my current CP,  and most of that time was spent trying to squish more and more stuff onto one panel.  the front of my panel has a lip on it and I got the idea to have removable panels that would clamp onto the main one.  Ofcourse i couldn't think of this until I invested time and money on the first design but oh well.  the point of all this is that i realized that i would rather spend the time clamping and unclamping custom cp's onto the main cp than having everything avaialable in a weird not so perfect crammed single cp.  the absolute first of these would be a double 4way couple buttons one, to have perfect feel for the classics,  then a trigger stick/spinner  one,  racing, SW Yoke if Davia ever produces, and maybee a double analog (for what specifically i don't know yet).  Also its kinda cool and less intense a project to work on a single smaller cp than rebuilding the entire first one, but ofcourse before all that I have to retro fit the first one for hot-swapable action. one day i will figure out how to upload pictures here

I actually got my hands on one of these joysticks but when I move it it looks like an 8way, ie two switches can be contacted on the diagonal,  Does anyone know if the original joystick hole was a circle or a diamond?  The hole in mine is a circle,

I apprecite the reponse, and you may be right, but the stick we are talking about is actually a different Wico,  but it may have that part as well,  I'm just not sure.  I'm racking my brain to get this stick right,  If it is a diamond, I can replace the circular ones with some China repro tops, they are very close to the wicos and would fit on there, if not I think it is just a matter of tweaking the leafswitches so they don't touch,  rare rare joystick, can't find them anywhere!!!!!!

It's not an exact match to the joy you're talking about - haven't seen a pic 'o' that exact one - sorry.
However, looking closely at the pic in the first reply, it's hard to make out but it looks like the metal plate on the bottom does have a diamond-shaped restrictor nearly identical to the more common 4way as shown in the url last post.  Maybe I'm seeing things?

Anyhow, don't know if it's any help, but the common 4ways seem to be restricted top and bottom.
