Lil trackball opinion

Do you think it would be stupid to put a lil (i mean very lil) rubber trackball somewhere on my cab by receding (right word?) it into the cp so just the ball shows? I'm a material handler at a computer comp. and was looking around the inventory and I saw this lil trackball looking thing, thought it might be nice in case i would need a mouse-->use lil trackball.
