Hello from greece!!!! :) ;D ;D

I am totaly new here and i am AMAZED by this GREAT SITE and all of you guys. I spended much time serfing here and saw many (maybe all) of your GREAT projects......and i must say that u are totaly crazy about mame cabintes and all that staff...many gratz to all cause you give me lot of information about building my cabinet project.
Keep up the good work!!!

Now my question ---> Does anyone knows the dimensions of these 1player arcade joysticks or similar to them? http://stupidgamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/sticks2.jpg

Before i try to make a cabinet i would like to start with somethnig much simple and easier like those joysticks. Does anyone have the plans or figure them out for me? I read that this joysticks are made from a forum member named TIM. Is he active or how can i contact with him to help me out?

Any 1player joysticks plans would give me some help!

And again you all are retro KINGS .....OMG you all have great cabinets i hope i will make one and show it to you.

I am waiting for your answers and sorry for my bad english.

Welcome,

It might be easier to download a (free) copy of sketchup from Google  and make your own plans..those joysticks looks fairly simpe construction wise..  You can steal button and joystick models from my cab design if you want...

 http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=76824.0

You will find that building the joysticks can be pretty easy if you by the encoders from Ultimarc or Groovy Game Gear...

there is no "Right" way to do this stuff. Just different strokes for different folks. Once you have a design, post it and folks can give you all sorts of suggestions as to what is good/bad about it...

Good Luck

God!!!! I need to sit down for a sec.....

You did those plans using sketchup!!!! I am working sketchup for about 3 days and i am not capable making a ball!!!
I am now downloading your plans.....great work i hope you finish your project and be as you dreamed it.
I searched in warehouse of sketchup and there is no 1player joysticks plans(if i am wrong send a link plz) ...there r only cabinets plans which at this time i cant work with them cause i dont know the programm well.

If you have time could u plz desing similar joysticks like TIM's and send me a link whenever u can..it would be a great favour.

p.s thanks for your answer
and what is an encoder u talked about? I need encoder for a arcade joystick to use it on the pc? I am planning to do it wiring a usb gamepad.

Anyone who knows how to use sketchup and have free time can please create the plans for fancy 1player arcade joysticks like these http://stupidgamer.com/2007/06/29/tims-custom-console-arcade-sticks/
or similar to them? It would be a great favor cause from the pics i cant imagine the right dimensions to give them to the woodshop to cut the wood parts.
(God...i must learn how to use sketchup)

Sketchup is stunningly easy. I've used programs like Maya, Milkshape, WC/H, Blender, 3DS Max, etc, etc. Some of those 3D modeling programs will actually make you want to quit modeling, never to look back.

Trust me, I had my reservations about Sketchup as well. But given the capabilities of Sketchup vs. ease of use, Sketchup is a really good app to get your feet wet.

There is a link to some plans for a 1 player stick I made in my signature, it was fairly simple (I think) but not quite as polished as Tim's sticks. Check them out and see if they'll work for you.
