posssible Star Trek marquee
« on: April 13, 2008, 09:40:01 pm »
Witch of the following 4 pictures would make a good basis for a Marquee?  I do not plan to put any words on it.  I will back light it.  I am partial to the first or third myself but I would like some advice if others have any.

After seeing all those, I just have to comment, the refit Constitution class Enterprise is still the best looking one ever...  :)

I like the first one, both because of the ship's orientation, and because of the neat art style.

After seeing all those, I just have to comment, the refit Constitution class Enterprise is still the best looking one ever...  :)

Is that the Star Trek II Refit?

If it is I also like that one

Just because the set SCREAM's 80's and even the sound fx's and graphic effects are 80's

Yeah, that's the one...  :)  I like them all, but I always liked the Star Trek TMP-Star Trek 6 Enterprise was the best...  Followed by the NCC-1701E being a close second...  :)  And then maybe Voyager...

Being that we are on the topic of Star Trek, I built the 1/350 Polar Lights Model recently. If you are interested in watching, here are some videos chronicling the build...

Part 1...

Part 2...

Part 3...

Also built the 1/350 NX-01...

Part 1...

Part 2...

Yes, but not lit because there is no practical way to run wires to the nacelles of the "D" without digging trenches in the plastic on the Ertl Kit. I am waiting until a larger scale is released.

Could you put up a picture?  How detailed is it?

Are you talking about the 1/1400 scale AMT/Ertl Enterprise D? The plastic is too thin to run wires to each nacelle. There are aftermarket trench covers that one can buy to cover the trenches that have to be dremeled to run the the wires to each nacelle, but I have tried it and it's not worth the effort. Someone is working on a much bigger 1/650 scale Ent D right now that I am waiting on that just begs to be lit. It's been a long time coming. I can't wait...

I think that he HQ ones will look better as a marquee, they will fit better and be a cleaner picture. I know you sent me a question about mine but here is my latest concept, what ya think?

The picture looks great.  I do not care for the words.  For some reason I do not like to have MAME in the name of a machine.  I think it would be much better without MAME TREK in the middle.  You would be able to see more of the battle.  I think the outside border/framing looks great, very Next Gen.  Depending on how mine goes I may doing something similar to that kind of border around the Enterprise D.

Those are beautiful...  I have several Starship models in my closet I have yet to work on, along with some resin Phasers...

Looke like you used the Aztec templates to paint the 1701-A 1/350?  I really wanted to order the 1/350, but I couldn't afford both the model and the template, and I didn't want to do it without the template...  :/
