Where to buy spare parts for pac man coin door
« on: April 09, 2008, 10:22:44 am »
Hello,

I am just starting to build a pacman /galaga type cab for my mame project (scratch build.)

First thing i am trying to get is all the parts. Since i am building 2 (1 for me 1 for a friend) i have to do everything twice.

Anyway i managed to score 2 coin doors from midway and they definatly need alot of work.
However since these doors are hard to come by for me i am looking for parts instead of buying extra doors wich cost me alot of shipping (i live in the netherlands)

I am missing some parts and i wonder where i can buy these or what they are called.
Attached is a picture of what i am missing:

Any help is welcome but i will end up building my own i am afraid.

The Great Amusement Emporium was manufacturing those themselves under the "GAME" brand name.

Ken, do you know of anyone that sells their stuff to the public.  Great Amusement Emporium won't sell to private individuals.

The Great Amusement Emporium only sells to operators and has a $200 minimum order. The longtime operator I worked for had me order from them all the time. Their prices were very low plus in some cases, they manufactured their own parts for things other companies no longer supported. Those Midway "entry chutes" are one of those items. They also had pinball machine coils made under the "GAME" brand for Atari and Game Plan machines that nobody else had or carried.

The Great Amusement Emporium has a huge catalog in a giant 4" three ring binder that makes it easy to update. The catalog is printed without prices. You look in the very last section with the pricing. Simply look up the item number and there's the price. My friend has a catalog.

If you're friends with a local game operator and that operator purchases from the Great Amusement Emporium, maybe you could talk them into ordering some parts for you.
