touch overlay doesnt work as well as expected
« on: April 03, 2008, 06:53:46 pm »
i recently picked up a touch overlay from touchscreens.com.

http://www.touchscreens.com/products-addon.html

what this is basically is instead of spending big bucks on a touchscreen you purchase an overlay wich is a piece of glass that rests on top of your existing monitor. saving alot of money. this is especially the case the larger you go.

overall i give this product a 7. with a pen styles its a 9. but accurancy goes way down using  your finger. maybe i am being unfair because i have never used a touch screen before. the accuracy of a mouse just isnt there. i can see how it could be used for things like a jukebox though.

after extensive testing and calibrating i still think accurancy with a finger would be higher on a real touchscreen.

just my first experience so far.
