Mala and LEDBlinky problem
« on: March 23, 2008, 06:47:33 pm »
I'm having problems getting LEDBlinky to light game controls in Mala and speak controls on game start. I have read through the docs and done everything it asks and can not figure it out. I have created a LEDBlinky input map and configured LEDBlinky to light game controls and set paths to colors.ini. I've done everything I know to do and can't get mala to light my controls while scrolling games or speak game name or controls. I did get it to play animation when mala starts and speak text but not while selecting or starting a game. Please help.

Stupid question: You have the controls.ini file, right (and it's pointed to in Mala)?   I didn't see it mentioned in your post.

rodneycrystal,
Check your LEDBlinky folder and look for LEDBlinky.log - that file will list any errors. If there's no log file or it has not identified the problem, turn on the the debug.log/verbose options in the config app. Then run Mala, scroll through some games, and launch a game. Afterwards, post or email me the Debug.log file.

I fixed the missing control-color mapping file. I still get an error though.

[03/23/2008 14:23:51] Missing Control-Color mapping file [D:\ARCADE\Programs\Mala\plugins\LEDBlinky\Control-Color_mame.ini].
[03/23/2008 14:23:51] LEDBlinky.mplugin> LEDBlinky.exe reports failure for event [EMULATOR_SELECTED].
[03/24/2008 12:35:08] Missing []. Required to light LEDs for MAME.

What, you can't figure out the problem from the error message:
[03/24/2008 12:35:08] Missing []. Something is missing - it's your job to guess.  ::) Who wrote this crap!  ;) Joking aside, I sent you a pm with the link to download the 3.6 beta - it should fix the problem. Let me know how it goes.
