I just received the subject joystick today.
The first thing I noticed is the conical plastic piece at the bottom of the shaft that makes contact with the metal actuators on the switches.
I got it with the base of the cone pointing up, which makes the thicker part of the piece come into contact with the switches when moving the stick. This setup, allows for a little bit of diagonal to register. In other words, it is possible to press two switches at the same time (say, up and left).
If I switch the conical piece around so that the thinner part of the cone acts on the switches, there is no overlap whatsoever between any two switches. However, this creates a little bit of a dead zone when going from say, left to up.
It looks like by pushing the cone up the shaft a little using spacers (wahsers, maybe) this can be adjusted to almost perfection but I haven't tried anything yet.
I guess what I want to know is how is everyone using this joystick: with the base of the cone pointing up or down?
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Manuel
