WTB: TRS-80 - Seriously!
« on: March 19, 2008, 04:58:25 pm »
I'm doing a display of old consoles and whatnot and a TRS-80 would be great since I had one and remember it fondly (Hammurabi anyone? Dancing Demon?). Looking for a TRS-80 color or preferable a model III since that's what I had. Working or not.
Also still looking for Colecovision, Sega Genesis, and Sega Gamegear. Working or not.
I've got a fever...

I have a TRS-80 CoCo 1 with the cassette cable and at least one joystick.  I think I may also have a serial port cable of some kind and possibly two joysticks.  I hadn't really considered selling it, but I don't use it for anything.  PM me if you're interested.

Can't help you in you search but I do hope you plan on posting some photos when you're done.  I'm interested to see what you've got going on.   8)

If this request had come a few years back I could have given you my entire collection...I started with Model 1 and had a Model 2, III, 4, 4p, Model 12, Model 16, and Model 100 "laptop" including appropriate TRS-DOS and CP/M operating systems, HD and 8" subsystem disk drives.

This post brings back memories of operating a dialup BBS system a friend and I coded from scratch on a Model III/4 systems and a "mini-blog" operating completely on a Model 100.

I gave these away a long time ago but do have a couple of Sega Gamegear systems with few assorted games packed away if you are interested in those.

Send PM if interested.

Thanks for the memories.....

I might have a dead Game Gear I can send you... I'll poke around and see what I find.  I think I Freecycled the stack of Genesis I had left but if there is still one around you can have that too.

Thanks all. Very interested in everything you guys mentioned. I'll PM MonMothma SteveJ34. Chad, let me know what you find.

SteveJ - Damn! A day late and a dollar short. That sounds like quite the Tandy setup you had.

I definitely plan on posting pics of the display once I have it all together. It was going to be in a display cabinet but I quickly ran out of space before I ran out of cool things to collect. Now I'm planning on putting up shelves on an open wall.

I sold my model 100 on Ebay 3 -4 years ago.  Got a good price IIRC.  I started on a model 1.  I remember when the high school got the kick ass model 2 with 8" disk drive it was an all business machine  ;D

The model 3 took up too much room.  They did use it for a prop in a seinfeld episode at the car rental counter.... "These pretzels are making me thirsty"
Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a whampin' and whompin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.
