How do I change directions the mouse goes?
« on: May 23, 2003, 08:11:03 pm »
I have a question, how do I make it so that when I move vertically with my mouse, it moves horizontally on the computer.  I did a mouse hack that was like 500 times easier if I hacked the vertical optics than the horizontal, so I hacked the vertical.  Anybody have a program or some type of software that will make my vertical movements horizontal on the pc?

Thank you.

Not sure... but I think the only way to support this switch is by using the Mame:Analog+ at www.urebelscum.speedhost.com

If the software really switched it though, then wouldn't it work in normal MAME(since the software had already switched it)?

Now that I think about it(yes, I can think) I'll just wire the vertical optics electrically to where the horizontal optics are.  Then I won't have to do any mounting or anything, just solder a few wires.

Yes, you can do is.  Quick and easy hardware solution.

Analog+ can reassign mouse's axis, so you could assign mouse Y axis to the game's player 1 X axis, but it would only work in Analog+.

A very few mouse drivers can reassign the mouse axes for windows, which should also effect mame.  I don't which drivers, though.

If I was you, I'd go with the hardware fix.  If I was me (hey, I am me :P ), I'd do the Analog+ way. ;D

I tried the hardware fix and accidentally melted my mouse wheel thing  :( , so I had to superglue a new one on, and now it's not perfectly level, and the spinner doesn't work as well  >:( .

I probably should try the hardware solution again, and just make sure my wheel is nowhere near it.
