What to use for backlit soda machine plexi replacement?
« on: March 17, 2008, 03:31:01 pm »
MODS: If this is in the wrong forum for this, please move it for me.

I recently acquired fully functioning Pepsi machine FOR FREE from a friend who had no place for it at his house.  I'm interested in replacing the PEPSI logo plexi on the front with something else.  It's not a huge piece of plexi, maybe 36tall by 14 wide or something.

I can get a piece of plexi from Home Depot that size for like $14.  I'd want to just print something in that case that I could just tack onto the back of it.  Probably some kind of transparency.  I'd need to print something that could be backlit easily.

Does anyone have any idea what I should be looking for?  Media type, ink type, place to get it done (can Kinkos do it) etc?.

You need to get that printed onto backlit film. Its essentially a flimsier version of the material that is used for marquees. Most proffesional printshops should be able to do it for you. You might run into some copyright issues though regarding the "Pepsi" logo.
When pixelated clipart just wont do, just call for Betty

Thanks!  It's not going to be a Pepsi logo, it's going to be something custom.
