Height of Stargate Cabinet

Can anyone tell me the height of a Stargate cab?  Supposed to go look at a Stargate conversion cab tomorrow.  It is supposed to rain/snow for the next few days and i dont wanna haul it in my pickup in those conditions.  Was gonna see if it would fit in my fathers tahoe with the seats down.  i dont know though.  seems like it wont be enough room.  damn you weather.

You can get a tarp for under $20 and you can snag your cab.  I use these at home, even the cheapy one is great.

haha i thought about a tarp but didnt really want to risk it.  the guy who owns the cab just sent me an email and said its 26x26x70.  i measured the tahoe(with seats folded down) and it looks like it will fit.  well if those dimensions are correct it should.

I am hoping that the rain/snow goes someplace else and i can just go grab it with my pickup.  guess we will see.

If you need a second opinion, I just went out to my garage and measured mine. Exactly 70 inches at the highest point. There's a little extra if there are any levelers on it, but you could remove those if it has them.

thank you for confirming.  doesnt seem like it would fit in a Tahoe but according to those measurements it will.  anyways, hope to be bringing home my first cabinet tomorrow.

Looks can be decieving, I'm always surprised by what can be fit inside vehicles, like the 8-foot ladder I bought and brought home in my wife's Prius.

You could try briefly constructing a template out of carboard boxes or something, just to test fit before you teka that journey.

If you plan on laying it down... no matter what vehicle you use... open it up and make sure everything inside is bolted tight before you tilt it!  Its amazing how many times I've found cabs that everything is just "sitting" inside.

I second the fact that you should take some tools over with you.

Screwdrivers, bit sets, allen wrenchs, zip ties.

Oh, did I mention zip ties.

well it looks like the rain might come after all.  the cabinet will fit in the tahoe as long as i prop one end up.  if i dont prop it up then the seats headrests get in the way.  i thought they were removable but they are not. 

im debating about going to get a tarp and just use my pickup.  fully rap the machine in the tarp and tie it shut.  then lay it down.

and yes, i will check to make sure everything is secure before we tilt it.  actually told my girlfriend to remind me once we get there in case i get to caught up in the moment.

for those wondering, the game used to be stargate but its now converted to U.N. Squadron.

Also, take a couple of 2x4's with you or some blocks or something so that the machine is resting on the blocks inside the back of the cab.  That way, if there is a downpour, the cab, wrapped in the tarp, will be a good 2 or 3 inches of the bed of the truck so any standing/sloshing water will not even touch the machine.
