I'm a little skeptical based on him claiming it is ROTJ and saying there were only 100 made -- was there a factory conversion for ROTJ in a SW cockpit ?

In any event, cockpit looks like it is in good shape.

Not that I've ever seen.  What is there to be skeptical about, though?  It's a raster game - so clearly it is not the original monitor.  The art looks great, the yoke for both games is the same, and that ROTJ marquee in the back is pretty nice.

Just that I tend to be skeptical about buying from people who don't know what they are selling.

I like the looks of the cab and, if it were local to me and the reserve is reasonable, I would be bidding ... BUT the seller not knowing what they are selling should raise red flags the same way that the phrase "it's probably just a fuse" raises red flags.

Not a reason to dismiss bidding, just a reason to be cautious.

I want a Star Wars cockpit sooooo bad.

I'd rip out the ROTJ and immediately put the proper bits and pieces inside.

Yeah, $1000 reserve is steep. 

Breaking the components down you actually get a new monitor, original yoke, the cabinet itself, ROTJ gameboard.

Would still have to get a vector monitor, original gameboard, convert the artwork back from ROTJ on the back.

Add that to the $1000 reserve.... pricey.

I've only played this game once years ago, and I know for sure it was a sit-down cockpit like that... ironically, I also played the original Star Wars arcade game for the first time that day as well in a standup machine at the same place.....

I've seen other ROTJ in SW cockpits but never a kit conversion like this one.

OK, so Atari made a kit. Is this still worth over $1000? Imagine first, the price of a normal non-working cockpit with no XY monitor in it. Now add the price of ROTJ board. Add the price of this unique marquee, and the adaptor, shroud, and what's it add up to? Not $1000.

I don't care if it's factory converted or not. It's a damn shame it _was_ converted....
