Need help finding token holder for cab.
« on: March 02, 2008, 07:22:28 pm »
I have looked all over the web and could not find a decent token holder.  I was hoping that I could find  something that would hold them in two ten dollar rows or something of the sort. I have seen what happ's offers and it wouldn't work for me. :hissy:

I would like something recessed so I could cut a hole and drop it in to my controll panel. I have spent an hour looking and finally think my only solution is to make my own. Heck, at this point I would take just any small tray that could be recessed into my panel.

My cab has to take tokens or the feel of the arcade experience is lost in my opinion.

You're supposed to set them up on the marquee bracket, that's how we did it back in the day when we wanted the next game :)  (some games you could set them on the control panel by the glass, but on some games, you ran the risk of losing them down inside the machine)

I have a three sided cocktail table with a trackball on the third side elavated to the hight of the glass for big golden tee swings.  Infront of the trackball is  a 3x5 area that isnt covered with glass and thats where I wanted to put it.

I use a plastic casino coin bucket next to the machine.

I agree that individual coins that mean "I'm next" go along the marquee or display bezel. But in my case and for now, both locations result in missing coins. That doesn't stop visitors from doing it. :)

With a cocktail, I'd think an ashtray would be fine.

What about a token/change machine?  That is what I have.  Put the dollar in and get 4 or 5 tokens, depending on what you have set-up.

Michael

PS If someone has an upgrade for a Rowe BC-35 let me know.  Mine only takes $1's and old 5's.

where did you get a change machine..and how much does something like that cost?  i would love to have a token dispenser machine, but i don't want to spend a bunch of money on one.  I am in the process of trying to make my own, but every time i get an idea on how to do it, i come up with a better one...so I'm still not sure how the best way to go about making one is...

I got mine for just under $100.  Need to find an upgrade so I will sell mine when I find a better one.  :-)
