I think my offering is more to the point.
That is your problem.  You would place yourself in company such as those people.  That is not your place to do - if no one else does it you don't belong there.
Anyone here willing to place this guy amongst those men?
Why not?
They were all visionaries.
Granted I'm not a known Poet or Statesman or President.
But I understand ignorance, and I fight against it.  Like in my response post to Polaris.  His white trash comment was extreme ignorance.  So was his "take" on the situation.  I fight that. I hate that.
Polaris thought it was funny.  Some shed of light in his day.  I bet Polaris had a good upbringing, thus his degrading and unfunny comment.
He probably cannot relate to those people in that room, because he was probably told (like I was) that you go to an interview in a suit  or dress smart to make a good impression. He probably thought they were ignorant.  I went to plenty "group" interviews and they served drinks to make the interviewees comfortable.  I'm sure Polaris wasn't aware of that.
I have a vision that we should all learn to live together in peace.  Just place a sticker on me as racist or bigot or dillhole for having that thought.  Jefferson was not a saint, neither was Franklin or Wilde, but they had the insight to know what an ignorant person is.  As do I.  Thus their quotes.
I don't mind if you use my quote, just please use it in the correct context.  I use it often in my travels as I do come across people with the same problem as Polaris.
So lets revise what was said about me in this thread:
I'm a racist for making an immigrant comment which is well documented by the UK media.
I'm a xenophobe for not laughing and sharing the "joke" that was "White Trash in Wales."
I'm a dillhole for making a point that ignorance is not something to be proud about.
I'm a dillhole for having a different point of view and sharing some words of wisdom.
I'm a dillhole for having compassion for others who are less fortunate than we are.
Anything else?
