Spinner to hack or not to hack?
« on: February 23, 2008, 12:19:39 pm »
That is my question. I know you can hook a Happs trackball up by simply plugging the connector into a MiniPac. Can you do this with a Tempest spinner as well?

Has anyone ever used a Tempest spinner like this or done some kind of hack to one?
If anyone has any link to something  using an original Tempest spinner I'd like to check it out .
Thanks

I am getting ready to buy a minipac or opti pac to handle my trackball (from an atari centipede) and spinner (from a tempest). I haven't done it yet so I can't give you a guarantee, but I can tell you that they both have the same kind of connector and come from the same company (atari) and have the same optical circuit board, so I would be shocked to discover that it doesn't work.
