Recommended thickness for tempered glass?
« on: February 21, 2008, 04:21:49 pm »
I'm about to order a sheet of tempered tinted glass for my bezel overlay. I'm replacing the plexi that was originally on the cab, but am a little confused ..

The plexi is 1/8" thick, but I've read here that folks have used 1/4" thick tempered glass for their overlay .. is this the recommended thickness? If so, I'd have to carve out a bit of the top channel where the current plexi fits perfectly in ;)
So a leper walks into a bar and as he gets his beer, a finger falls off. The bartender who is serving him turns and pukes all over the place. The leper, feeling bad, says, "Was it my finger falling off?" The bartender turns to him and says, "No, it's the guy dipping chips into your back."

Mine is 1/8" tempered glass and it is fine. IMO 1/4" is overkill and will be very heavy.
Old, but not obsolete.

But 1/4" is proper for cocktail glass tops, right?
