Vector Mame - ZVG
« on: February 21, 2008, 01:21:47 pm »
I just got a vectorMame setup with the ZVG card started. Doing some searching on here I find that other have this also. I would like to know what is the latest ( best) version of DOS mame to use with this setup?

This is the last DOSmame binary to be released, version .100:

You can also download a stripped-down version of dmame .96 (vectormame) from the Zektor website:

http://www.zektor.com/zvg/vectormame.htm

Which one is best?  All versions after .90 (or so) have ZVG support built in, but some games were added after that, like QB-3, War of the Worlds color, and Topgunner.  So, although I guess the obvious answer would be the latest one, .100, it seems to me that I had some issue that I can't recall getting that one to work with Fuseball's frontend, which cannot be reconfigured.  So, I'm pretty sure that I have the frontend tied to an earlier version, like .96, but I also have .100 in another folder for the later additions.  I'd have to go home tonight and check.  Pain to have to use command lines, but you do what you gotta do...

Thanks for your reply. I seem to most of it working now.
However even though the joystick works in the games, I can not get it to work to select the game from the supplied vector menu frontend. Have you gotten this to work?
