Monitor Question
« on: February 18, 2008, 02:02:27 pm »
Hey again all,

OK so I am trying to finalize my parts for ordering and getting everything down. I have done some serious searching and reading on the topic of connecting a computer to an exsisting arcade monitor but am still a little confused. Some of the pages, including the monitor guide I found here seem ancient and very intense. I'm aware that much like older tube televisions these monitors can store a ton of juice and kill you if you touch them in the wrong place, so I am weary about any kind of serious contact with them. My question is this: is there a simple way to connect my Wells Gardner U2000 monitor to my PC without any risk of blowing myself across the room? I have seen numerous parts on Ultrimac and they seem to be what I need I think but am not 100% sure if they will do the trick? Is this as simple as buying a ArcadeVGA Card and connecting it?

Yes, you still need to connect the cable from the ArcadeVGA to your monitor....

But it's nowhere near the "F-Points"......

Dude, in this hobby, it's almost nothing BUT wiring.  Get used to it!   :D

its only 5 wires to connect, nothing scary.
also it is extremely difficult to kill yourself with an arcade monitor,i know because i have tried loads of times
