Good luck - hope you get lucky, always tough getting hold of this kind of stuff in the UK unless your happy to cough up the shipping....

This for a new cab/extra controls? (really like your cab in the projects forum...)

Just so you know, Roadblasters steering assembly is a bit of a "special case" for hooking up to a mame cab (I'm assuming that's the plan here).

It looks like a yoke (although it does not have forward/backward motion, so can not be used for 'yoke' games like Starwars). It is also not a 'pot based' (potentiometer) control like most 270degree controls - it is actually an optical device like a spinner/free spinning wheel that is mechanically restricted to 270 degrees. So it would need to be interfaced to a cab like a spinner would , but you can't use it for spinner type games (sorry if this is confusing).

This makes it great for Roadblasters, but akward to configure for almost anything else. Others have converted them to pot based, but then you may as well get a pot based wheel/yoke in the first place....

Sorry if you know all this, but when it comes to driving controls in mame there is more than one way to skin a cat....

Drives me crazy theres a guy selling a whole roadblaster cab for $105 on ebay, of course he cant ship it  :hissy:

I've researched the heck outta the roadblaster yoke on the forum. Haven't found anyone who has posted a succesful pot conversion, although there was a fair bit of discussion. Now my cabs nearing its completion I want to work on some of the swappable panels. I'm looking at driving controls, the thing is I only ever really loved 2 arcade driving games, Roadblasters and VRacing. My plan is to use the original optics, using an optipac to interface for Roadblasters. and use a hacked sidewinder steering wheel to allow the stewering wheel to work with everything else. I intend to attach the roadblaster steering colomn directly to trhe sidewinder colomn. Essentially using 2 interfaces for one controller. I could just hack in the sidewinder wheel but apart from its pure ugliness! I wanted to use some "real controls" on this cab. IMHO the roadblaster steering wheel was beautiful, if you can call it a wheel, it was the closest thing in my childhood to playing at being knightrider  ;D

I just sold one here about a month ago.  User vertygo bought it.  You may contact him to see if he would sell it to you.  No idea if he would or not.  I believe that he had a thread about it in the Main forum a couple of weeks ago.

Good luck.
