Help! Having trouble re-programming i-pac4
« on: February 13, 2008, 10:58:05 pm »
I'm having some trouble reprogramming the player 1 "shift" feature on my i-pac4.

Here's the main reason that I want to reprogram it:
I discovered the other day (during a heated game of Smash TV) when both players died at the same time and both players' game was over, we both pressed our start button at the same time and (you guessed it) it escaped the game since player 1 (shift) and player 2 pressed at the same time = Esc.

I tried using the WinIpac software and I went to "table" mode and I can see the shift button set to "player 1".  However, when I click the mouse on it to reassign the key to the letter P (my Pause button will be shift) is sets it to "none".

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? (I checked the Ultimarc site for help, but it did not have instructions on how to specifically reprogram the actual shift button)

Thanks in advance.

The shift button is an input connection, not a keycode. So what you need to do is click on the box under "shift" then click on the required connection in the main table to assign that connection to be the shuift key.

That worked!  Thanks.

Perhaps you can add that to your documentation area on your website?  It was very helpful for me and literally took seconds for me to do.  Knowledge is power.

Thanks again Andy!
