KI2 original arcade problem. (FIXED!)
« on: February 10, 2008, 11:22:17 pm »
Hi,
I get this Killer Instinct 2 original arcade cabinet about a month ago, it is in great shape. today some friends were playing at it and suddenly the game restarts itself, but it keep restarting. It plays the 'boing' sound at the beginning and show the blue screen and then it resets again.

what could be wrong with this??
TIA

I had a similar problem on my Super Turbo board one time.

Then I realized I had the cart resting on the Test switch that is on the side of the CPS2 cart.  I dont know what the KI2 board looks like, but you might want to check and see if its not something similar

Ok, I'll check that.
I hope that it won't be a serious issue.
thanks

Could be a hard drive issue.

If there was a hard drive problem, I imagine there would be some way to re-flash it using a dumped .chd file or something.

Absolutely!  I've rebuilt an Area 51 HD that had crashed with data errors, by using the CHD dump of Area 51. Works flawlessly in the original machine. The other benefit was that it was a slightly newer revision of the software as well  :applaud: :applaud:
