Wiring question
« on: February 10, 2008, 08:44:17 pm »
So my first cabinet is done (almost).  It's a 3-control panel cocktail.  On the long side I cannot fit the 1-player, 2-player arcade buttons after everything else is in place.

I have the small pushbuttons from Happ, but I don't know how to wire them.  The button has 2 prongs on the back.  Anyone know how to connect these to my IPac?

If this makes no sense, let me know and I'll try to provide more info.

I'm assuming that you have the button shown below.  It looks like a momentary pushbutton (without a microswitch) which would mean that you can connect one end to the ground on the iPac and the other to the Player 1 start button input.  Do the same for player 2.  It does not matter which one you connect to ground or the input.  Momentary pushbuttons do not have a microswitch on them.  Basically, that means that they complete a circuit when pressed.  It would be equivalent to taking a wire that was attached to the ground input and a wire that was attached to the player1 start input and touching them together for a moment.  That would close the circuit and allow the signal to simulate a key press.

Does this make sense?  Let me know if I can explain it better.

That does make sense, and that is pretty much the button I've got.  Thanks for your help!
